Why?
The
Tennessee Dental Association empowers individual dentists to be collectively
effective with issues that confront them and serves as an advocate for
the advancement of the profession. There are a variety of membership
benefits that you can receive with your membership. To start

Who?
TDA has several membership categories for
those wishing to join.
Active Member: A dentist licensed to practice in Tennessee
or A dentist who is a full-time educator
in a school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of
the American Dental Association, residing in Tennessee, who is a member
in good standing in the American Dental Association or
A dentist who is a member of the Federal Dental Service and a fully
privileged member of the American Dental Association or
A fully privileged ADA member dentist who practices or resides in a
state contiguous to Tennessee, in close proximity to the Tennessee border,
with permission of the local dental society and state dental association
in the state in which that dentist practices or resides.
Student
Member: A dentist eligible for membership in this Association
who is engaged full-time in an advanced training course of not less
than one (1) academic year’s duration in an accredited educational
facility may make application for student membership to the Board of
Trustees through his component society or
A pre-doctoral student of a dental school accredited by the Commission
on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association and located
within the State of Tennessee who is classified as a member of the American
Student Dental Association is eligible for membership as a student member
of the Tennessee Dental Association and may make application for student
membership directly to this Association.
Dental
Team Member: This category of membership includes: hygienists,
assistants, educators, dental benefits administration, office mangers,
dental lab tech, insurance specialists, receptionist, etc. To
become a dental team member, print a Dental Team Member
Application
in Adobe PDF format. If you cannot open the form,
e-mail Membership Department and request a form.
How?
The membership
application
is for new members and those rejoining organized dentistry. The application
asks for name and contact information, practice and home address information,
dental education, licensing information, and student organized dentistry
membership facts. Dentists should forward completed applications to
the TDA office. Your application will be forwarded to the local dental
society you would join. Once your membership is approved you will be
billed for dues. E-mail

How
Much?
Dues help support the TDA, ADA, and the local dental society
in which a member practices. For reference, in 2007, full ADA
dues are $489, full TDA dues are $355, and district dues vary between
$45 and $125.
